Baby Seats and Travel Systems

There are a number of baby seat models available in the market and each type of car seat has its own pros and cons. The most expensive type of baby seat is the travel system.
A travel system offers a whole system to fill all of your baby’s needs when traveling. It comes with an infant seat, a car base and a stroller.
The infant seat fits into the base attached to the car so that the baby will be safe and comfortable during the car trip. The infant seat can then be removed from the car and attached easily to a stroller base.
Many baby seat manufacturers create this whole travel system but there are also separate strollers that can be purchased to accommodate different brands of baby seats.
A travel system can cost anywhere between $ 130 and $ 600. The travel system can save you money because you don’t have to purchase a stroller separately.
You are just purchasing the frame and no longer need to pay for the whole stroller. You can even buy a second baby seat base to use with a second car.
No need to purchase two different car seats, just install the bases into the different vehicles and the baby seat will fit nicely into the bases. This makes changing cars easy. Baby seats of travel systems can also serve as a carrier. So you get an infant seat, a carrier and a stroller in one.
Travel systems are perfect when you do a lot of car traveling because you can seamlessly transfer your baby from the car to the stroller. It can become especially handy when the child falls asleep in the car during the trip and is still asleep when you reach your destination.
This type of car seat is however not advisable for the city dwellers who take a lot of public transportation. The strollers of car seat stroller systems are often bulky.
There are plenty of compact stroller models available in the market and these types of stroller may be more practical for those who need to carry the stroller and the baby around when taking public transportation.
